Alongside our consulting work, OslonIT owns and develops the Karlonet (KNet) family of infrastructure software for IT teams. The products run on your own servers with Docker.

KNet SAM

Karlonet System Agent Management

One web console for your servers and workstations. A small agent on each Linux, Windows or macOS machine connects out to your own KNet SAM server, so nothing has to be opened inbound on the machines.

KNet SAM runs on your own infrastructure in Docker, with its own PostgreSQL database. Each machine has a local policy that says what SAM may do there, and the agent enforces it: the server cannot override it.

What it does

  • Terminal and graphical remote desktop in the browser, with shared sessions and session recording
  • Monitoring and alerts: health, uptime, disks, certificates, scheduled checks and configuration drift; alerts in the console, by e-mail, to Slack, Teams and webhooks, and to ticketing systems
  • Updates and packages across the fleet: update runs in waves, holds, and reboots only where needed
  • Network devices: switches, access points, routers and UPS over SNMP; supported firewalls read through their API and never changed
  • A private WireGuard overlay network run by SAM, with access between machines only through grants
  • Roles, machine groups, two-factor authentication, single sign-on (OpenID Connect, SAML, LDAP) and an audit log of every change
  • Reports as PDF or CSV, kept and mailed on a schedule, with your own branding
  • High availability with two nodes and a witness, several organisations on one installation, encrypted backups of SAM itself

Karlonet Docker Image Registry

A private Docker image registry on your own servers, with a web interface to browse and manage your images. You push and pull with the standard Docker CLI.

What it does

  • Sign-in with OpenID Connect, LDAP or local accounts, with multi-factor authentication for local and LDAP accounts
  • Scoped personal access tokens for docker login, so passwords stay out of build pipelines
  • Owner, admin, operator and viewer roles with fine-grained permissions
  • A description and README for each repository, and who pushed each tag
  • An audit log of every change, sign-in and permission change
